The annual Artz-Fox Cultural Diversity program, held May 9, saw families and students treated to the second grade graders performances with dance and song. In addition the Grandview High School mariachi band performed for the students along with Mabton High School's 's own Ebony Degaldo, who sang a solo for the students. The "Grease" dance routines by Angel Roettger's classroom also performed at the Lower Valley Relay for Life held May 17 in Grandview. The dances raises nearly $800 for the American Cancer Society fund raiser.

Week-long food drive big success
The annual Artz-Fox Elementary School Red Ribbon food drive resulted in more than 500 items of food being collected for the Mabton food Bank. The classrooms of Andrea McCallum (represented here by Freddy Medina, Dajuan Malature, David Jimenez and Yenny Cuevas) and Tim Platsman tied for first place, collecting in excess of 72 food items. The winning classrooms earned ice cream parties. The food drive was held as part of the week-long red ribbon activities, which included a parade and a tug-a-war and dress-up days.

Grange donates dictionaries
The Waneta Grange has donated dictionaries to Artz-Fox third graders for the fifth year, and possibly the last year due to the Waneta Grange disbanding this year due to lack of membership.
Don and Betty Baser of Mabton presented the dictionaries to the students in Mrs. Watson’s third grade class.
